I cannot pretend to fully understand the politics behind NHS England publishing statistics on ‘delayed transfers of care’, but I just wonder if Health and social care professionals actually worked together, instead of spending ages apportioning blame, outcomes for patients would be better? A couple of articles illustrate the problem facing the U.K. today. Both from the Guardian: The Blame game: NHS & Social care, and Social care and the NHS, so far apart.
I guess the comments on each of the Guardian’s articles add to the wider debate on what constitutes a ‘Safe and Timely discharge’.
