With the Neil Armstrong biopic ‘First Man’ pulling in the crowds in cinemas, I just couldn’t resist blogging about a classic children’s T.V. series, the Clangers which ran from 1969 – 1972. This episode, The Rock Collector, still makes me smile as the history of NASA manned spaceflight is a research topic that reveals many interesting stories & much drama. Of the 12 astronauts who walked on the moon, I just wonder how many of them collected samples from the moon in a wicker basket as shown in the media clip? A piece of Genesis rock or a large helping of blue string pudding? Must of been a tough decision for the Apollo 15 crew!
