Public Information Films through the years.

Following on from my previous blog post on ‘Amateur film makers’, this perhaps leads nicely on to ‘Public Information Films’. These government commissioned short films, often shown during T.V. ad breaks, were meant to advise the general public living in towns & cities on what to do in various situations ranging from; crossing the road, maintaining household safety & surviving a nuclear attack. The National Archive has archived some of the most memorable of these Public Information Films. The two YouTube clips below are included in this archive.
