Catching up on the daily news online, I came across an article where a former Chief of Defence Staff fell from his horse during the Trooping the Colour ceremony. A couple of things troubled me when reading this article, including, the news agency requesting more information from those who witnessed the event, & how an individual in obvious distress continued to be filmed by many people with smartphones. Just maybe, we should put down our smartphones during certain events. Recording a crime in progress for prosecution use, great. Capturing a special moment personal to us, yes. Filming a music artist on stage, no problem … but recording someone in distress, in my opinion is just plain wrong.
